Anadolu Stockbreeding was established in 1996 with all the required authorizations from the Prime Ministry of the Turkish Republic, the Treasury, and the General Directorate of Foreign Investment.
In the year of its establishment, the company imported 6000 head of pregnant heifers from the Netherlands, but this operation came to an end with the advent of diseases like BSE in the EU at the end of 1996 when the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture banned breeding stock imports. Nevertheless, Anadolu moved forward with stockbreeding projects around Turkey and became the sole Turkish representative of Koepon Holding, Alta Genetics Inc., a global leader in semen and embryo production. Alta Genetics Inc. is one of the largest genetic research companies in the world and it has semen and embryo production stations in the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Eastern Europe, Brazil, and China. In addition, Anadolu is the exclusive distributor for Alpuro Breeding of the Netherlands.
